Inductees will be honored on June 5, June 6, and June 7, 2008.
RSVP will be determined in advance. Awards will be filmed and edited for TV.
Schedule allows approx 10 minutes for each inductee to be honored into Environmental Hall of Fame:
a) 8-12 inductees
b) Private Reception from 6:00-7:00 PM
c) Awards Ceremony from 7:00-9:30 PM
d) Either 120 to 150 minutes
1) 1 Minute for the Emcee
The emcee will be provided with a script (but can ad-lib). A media celebrity, BJ, Mark, Jack and/or Deborah Poneman could emcee. Deborah is on our Board of Directors and is a great emcee. She has a great relationship with Mark and Jack and is one of their co-authors (Chicken Soup for the American Idol Soul).
2) 1-2 minutes for celebrity who introduces inductee
The celebrity will be provided with a script or can provide one to us. We will need their script two weeks before the event. They will be in the wings during the emcee’s presentation. There are over 100 green celebrities in the LA area. We will ask the inductee who they would like to honor them (likely already a fan of theirs). We can also poll Green Celebrities and ask them who they would like to honor.
3) 1 Minute for the inductee to walk to and from podium
1 minute will allow time for applause and ovation. Theme music will be played as the person rises to receive their award and walks to stage and after finishing their inspiring acceptance speech (The Flower Duet?). The celebrity will present the inductee with the LEO Award statue (for Environmental Stewardship). We hope that someday Leo Di Caprio can give the LEO Award to Al Gore.
4) 2 minutes for the Environmental Hall of Fame video clip about inductee
Video clip can be played on the Super Teaching screens. We have already downloaded the You Tubes for each of the environ-mentalists and edited them to approximately 2-3 minutes. We will be receiving originals from the environmentalists in order to induct them into the Environmental Hall of Fame Video and Awards Ceremony.
5) 2 minutes for the Inductee’s acceptance and inspirational speech
a) After 2 minutes the inductee is signaled. After 3 minutes the theme song starts to play.
b) The inductee will be provided with a copy of the video a month in advance and have a month to write the two-minute acceptance/inspirational speech.
